On June 9th, 2018, Hempstead Project Heart joined the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin in hosting an agriculture expo on the Oneida Reservation. The event was attended by the community at large as well as a special appearance by former NFL player, Kyle Turley, who spoke about how CBD helped with his various aliments from his career in the NFL. There were two native guest speakers, Blake Hunter from Canada and Winona LaDuke from Minnesota, who spoke about their experience growing hemp and what advice they would part on to future hemp growers in Wisconsin.
Hempstead Project Heart set up a booth to showcase hemp products and had a hempcrete demonstration for attendees to learn more about the benefits of hempcrete construction. In total over 600 people from the community attended and walked away with more knowledge about hemp than they walked in with. The event was held during Hemp History Week, a national campaign to educate American society on the benefits of growing hemp. There was free samples of hemp products for attendees to take home and try with their families.
